6. Is there a typing test for Clerk Cum Typist posts?
No. The Computer Based Typing Skill Test has been dispensed with for CEN 07/2026. However, candidates are expected to have basic computer and typing skills. The notification says this proficiency will be assessed after joining, and poor performance may delay confirmation or promotion.
7. What is the exam pattern of the CBTs?
The 1st Stage CBT has 100 questions in 90 minutes, and the 2nd Stage CBT has 120 questions in 90 minutes. Both cover General Awareness, Mathematics and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Each wrong answer carries a negative mark of one-third.

10. Do I need to upload a photograph?
You do not upload an old photograph. The application module captures a live photo through your webcam or phone camera against a plain white background. You must upload your own signature in JPG format of 30 KB to 49 KB. Non-compliant photos or signatures can lead to rejection at any stage.
11. Can candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery apply?
LASIK or other refractive surgery candidates are not eligible for posts with Medical Standard A3, which means the Trains Clerk post. For B2 and C2 posts, they may be considered fit subject to conditions in Annexure VII(A), such as at least one year since surgery and minimum residual corneal thickness of 425 microns.
12. Where will the exam dates and e-call letters be published?
All updates, including CBT dates, city intimation, e-call letters and results, will be published on the unified official RRB website, https://rrb.indianrailways.gov.in.
