RBI Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 Criteria: Age Limit (as on 01/04/2026)

Candidates must fall within the specific age bracket to be eligible for the Junior Engineer post. The crucial date for age calculation is April 01, 2026.

RBI Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

The RBI requires a high standard of academic excellence and relevant field experience.

1. Junior Engineer (Civil)

  • Education: Minimum 3 years Diploma in Civil Engineering with 65% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) OR a Degree in Civil Engineering with 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Experience: 2 years for Diploma holders or 1 year for Degree holders in execution/supervision of civil construction or maintenance works.

2. Junior Engineer (Electrical)

  • Education: Minimum 3 years Diploma in Electrical or Electrical and Electronic Engineering with 65% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) OR a Degree in the same field with 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Experience: 2 years for Diploma holders or 1 year for Degree holders in execution/supervision of electrical installations (HT/LT substations, AC plants, Lifts, etc.).

Experience (as on 01/04/2026)

Junior Engineer (Civil):At least 2 years’ experience for Diploma holders or at least 1-year experience for Degree holders in execution and supervision of civil construction work and/ or civil maintenance of office buildings/ commercial buildings/ residential complexes with basic knowledge of RCC design and other civil works, working knowledge of computers, experience in preparation of tenders for civil works, etc or a 1-year graduate apprenticeship training in a PSU.

Junior Engineer (Electrical):At least 2 years’ experience for Diploma holders or at least 1-year experience for Degree holders in execution and supervision of electrical installations in large buildings/ commercial buildings having HT/ LT substations, central AC plants, lifts, UPS, DG sets, CCTV, fire alarm system, etc or a 1-year graduate apprenticeship training in a PSU.

RBI Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection is a two-stage process designed to test both technical expertise and linguistic proficiency.

Stage 1: Online Examination (300 Marks)

The objective exam consists of four sections:

Stage 2: Language Proficiency Test (LPT) RBI Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026

Shortlisted candidates must undergo an LPT in the official/local language of the zone they applied for. This test is mandatory and qualifying in nature. Candidates not proficient in the local language will be disqualified.


Language Proficiency Test (LPT) The candidates provisionally selected from the online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test. The LPT will be conducted in the Official/ Local Language/s of the zone concerned (Annex – II). Candidate not proficient in the Official/ Local Language/s would be disqualified.

RBI Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026, Pay Scale, and Perquisites

Joining RBI as a Junior Engineer offers one of the best compensation packages in the public sector.

Pay Scale: Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ₹47,700/- per month (i.e. ₹29,000/- plus nine advance increments admissible to Junior Engineers) in the scale of ₹29000 – 1700 (3) – 34100 – 2040 (4) – 42260 – 2720 (6) – 58580 – 2950 (2) – 64480 – 3370 (3) – 74590 – 4050 (1) – 78640 and other allowances, as admissible from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments for Junior Engineer (Civil/ Electrical) is approximately ₹91,309/-

How to Apply for RBI Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026

Follow these steps to ensure a successful application:

  1. Candidates satisfying the conditions of eligibility as on April 01, 2026 are first required to visit the link i.e., “Recruitment for the Post of Junior Engineer (Civil/ Electrical) – Panel Year 2026” in the advertisement page for filling the ‘Online Application’. It redirects the candidates to the online registration page.
  2. Candidates will have to enter their basic details and upload the photograph, signature, left thumb impression and a hand-written declaration in the online application form as per the specifications given.
  3. To register application, choose the tab “Click here for New Registration” and enter name, contact details and e-mail ID. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password. An e-mail & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent.
  4. In case the candidate is unable to complete the application form in one go, he/ she can save the data already entered by choosing “SAVE AND NEXT” tab. Prior to submission of the online application, candidates are advised to use the “SAVE AND NEXT” facility to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same if required.
  5. Candidates are advised to carefully fill and verify the details filled in the online application themselves as no change will be possible/ entertained after clicking the COMPLETE REGISTRATION BUTTON.
  6. The Name of the candidate or his/ her Father/ Husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the Photo identity proof/ certificates/ marksheets. Any change/ alteration found may disqualify the candidature.
  7. Validate your details and save your application by clicking the ‘Validate your details’ and ‘Save & Next’ button.
  8. Proceed to upload Photo & Signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature.
  9. Proceed to fill other details of the Application Form.
  10. Click on the Preview Tab to preview and verify the entire application form before COMPLETE REGISTRATION.
  11. Modify details, if required, and click on ‘COMPLETE REGISTRATION’ ONLY after verifying and ensuring that the photograph, signature uploaded and other details filled by you are correct.
  12. Click on ‘Payment’ Tab and proceed for payment.
  13. Click on ‘Submit’ button.
  14. Candidates are advised to carefully fill in the online application themselves. No change is permitted after clicking on COMPLETE REGISTRATION Button. Candidates must note that the name filled in the online application should match exactly with the name as appearing on photo identity proof to be produced at the time of examination for verification.
  15. Female candidates who have changed first/ last/ middle name post marriage must take special note of this. Visually Impaired candidates are responsible for carefully verifying/ getting the details filled in, in the online application form properly verified and ensuring that the same are correct prior to COMPLETE REGISTRATION as no change is possible after COMPLETE REGISTRATION.
  16. Please note that all the particulars mentioned in the online application including name of the candidate, category, date of birth, address, mobile number, e-mail ID, centre of examination etc. will be considered as final and no modifications will be allowed after submission of the online application form.
  17. An online application which is incomplete in any respect such as without photograph and signature or illegible/ unclear photographs uploaded in the online application form will not be considered as valid.
  18. Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply on-line much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date for depositing the fee to avoid the possibility of disconnection/ inability/ failure to log on the Bank’s website on account of heavy load on internet/ website jam.
  19. The Bank does not assume any responsibility for the candidates not being able to submit their applications within the last date on account of the aforesaid reasons or for any other reason beyond the control of the Bank.
  20. Please note that the above procedure is the only valid procedure for applying. No other mode of application or incomplete steps would be accepted and such applications would be rejected.
