ISRO ICRB 2026 Educational Qualification Details

Educational qualification differs for Assistant/UDC posts and JPA/Stenographer posts. Please check carefully which criteria applies to your preferred post before applying.

For Assistant / Upper Division Clerk (Post No. 1, 3 & 5)

  • Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale from a recognised University.
  • Graduation must be completed within the stipulated/normal duration of the course as prescribed by the University (candidates who took extra years due to backlogs are NOT eligible, even with higher aggregate marks).
  • Proficiency in the use of computers is mandatory.

For Junior Personal Assistant / Stenographer (Post No. 2, 4 & 6)

  • Graduation with minimum 60% marks/6.32 CGPA (completed within stipulated duration) + one year experience as Steno-Typist/Stenographer; OR
  • Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with minimum 60% marks/6.32 CGPA (completed within stipulated duration) + minimum speed of 60 words per minute in English Stenography.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers is mandatory in both cases.
  • Candidates with DCP/DCCP Diploma holding a BOAT Apprenticeship Training Certificate under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme will also be considered equivalent to one year of steno experience.
Important Note on CGPA/Percentage: Conversion of CGPA into percentage (or vice versa) using a University conversion formula is NOT permitted for determining eligibility. Whichever criterion (CGPA or percentage) is mentioned on the degree certificate/mark-sheet must independently meet the minimum norm. There is no relaxation in educational qualification or marks for any category, including SC/ST/OBC/PwBD.

ISRO ICRB 2026 Application Fee Structure

The fee structure for ISRO ICRB 2026 is slightly different from typical government recruitments — candidates pay a processing fee upfront, part of which is refundable.

Skill Test Stage

  • Computer Literacy Test (all posts): Covers MS Word (35 marks), MS Excel (35 marks), MS PowerPoint (30 marks). Duration: 75 minutes. Qualifying: 60% for UR, 50% for reserved categories.
  • Stenography Test (JPA/Stenographer posts only): Shorthand dictation of 300 words at 60 words per minute (5 minutes), followed by transcription on computer (30 minutes, with compensation time for PwBD). Must be in Pitman’s shorthand. Passing: maximum 10% mistakes for UR, 12% for reserved categories.

Candidates are shortlisted for the Skill Test in the ratio of 1:5 (maximum) against category-wise vacancies, with a minimum of 10 candidates. Final selection is based purely on marks scored in the Written Test among candidates who qualify the Skill Test. In case of a tie, tie-breakers are applied — first based on marks in specific subject sections, then date of birth (older candidate preferred).

ISRO ICRB 2026 Written Test Centres

1. What is the total number of vacancies in ISRO ICRB 2026 recruitment?

A total of 244 posts are notified across Assistant, JPA, UDC, and Stenographer categories, including posts at Autonomous Bodies under the Department of Space.
