HAL DT/MT 2026 Eligibility – Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Regular/Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology (10+2+4 pattern, or 10+3+3 for lateral entry) from a recognized University/Institution in India, in the specific discipline/branch notified for the post. Part-Time, Correspondence, E-Learning and Distance Education courses are not eligible. Candidates possessing a Diploma along with the Engineering Degree, or a 5-year Integrated Degree in the notified discipline, are also eligible to apply.

The aggregate percentage is calculated by summing total marks obtained across all semesters/years against total maximum marks, with no rounding off and no weightage to any particular semester. Candidates in their Final Year/Final Semester may also apply provided they meet the prescribed percentage up to the last completed semester, subject to final qualification at the time of interview (tentatively September 2026). Wherever CGPA/letter grade is awarded, a Conversion Certificate from the University/Institute will be required at the time of interview.
HAL DT/MT 2026 Age Limit & Relaxation
The upper age limit for candidates belonging to UR and EWS category should not exceed 28 years as on 14.08.2026. Candidates belonging to OBC-NCL/SC/ST/EWS applying under the UR category will be treated on par with UR age criteria.

HAL DT/MT 2026 Application Fee
Candidates belonging to UR/OBC(NCL)/EWS category are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 500/- (inclusive of GST) through the online Payment Gateway (Credit Card, Internet Banking, or UPI). SC, ST, PwBD, and Internal HAL candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. Applicable convenience fee and taxes, if any, over and above Rs. 500/- will be borne by the candidate. The fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances, so candidates must verify their eligibility before making the payment.
HAL DT/MT 2026 Online Registration Process
Eligible candidates must apply online only through the HAL Careers portal — no other mode of application will be accepted. Before starting, keep ready a valid active e-mail ID, a passport-size colour photograph (JPG, under 180 KB), Aadhaar and Mobile Number, and semester-wise educational marks.

Selection will comprise an Online Computer Based Selection Test conducted on an All-India basis, followed by a Personal Interview at Bengaluru. The test will be of 2 hours 30 minutes duration and can be attempted in Hindi or English (choice to be made at the time of application and cannot be changed later).

Candidates will be shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5 to the number of vacancies per discipline and category, based on merit in the online test. The Final Merit List will be prepared giving 85% weightage to the Online Test and 15% weightage to the Interview. HAL DT/MT 2026 Salary, Stipend & Perks
Selected candidates will undergo a 52-week training programme comprising theoretical and on-the-job modules at various HAL locations. During training, trainees will draw a stipend comprising Basic Pay of Rs. 50,000/- plus Variable Dearness Allowance and Canteen Allowance, along with Bachelor Accommodation as per Company Rules.
On successful completion of training, trainees will be absorbed as Engineers in the Grade-II Scale of Pay of Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000/-, along with Basic Pay, Variable Dearness Allowance, Cafeteria-system Perks & Allowances, Company Accommodation/HRA, Performance Related Pay, Medical Facilities, Provident Fund, Gratuity and other superannuation benefits as per Company Rules.
Documents Required & Pre-Employment Medical Standards
At the time of the Online Test, candidates must carry an original valid photo ID (Voter ID/Driving License/Aadhaar/Passport/PAN Card/Govt.-PSU ID/College ID). At the interview stage (tentatively September 2026 at Bengaluru), reserved category candidates must produce Caste/Income & Asset/Disability Certificates in the prescribed Government of India format, along with Conversion Certificates for CGPA where applicable, and proof of final degree marks for final-year applicants.
All provisionally selected candidates, including PwBDs, must undergo a Pre-Employment Medical Examination.
