AIIMS NORCET 11 Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 – Overview

AIIMS NORCET 11 Nursing Officer Eligibility Criteria – Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfil one of the following two sets of educational qualifications to be eligible for NORCET-11:

Option I

B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute or University, OR B.Sc. (Post-Certificate)/Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized Institute/University; AND Registered as Nurse & Midwife with State/Indian Nursing Council.

Option II

Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized Institute/Board/Council; Registered as Nurse & Midwife with State/Indian Nursing Council; AND a minimum of Two Years’ Experience in a hospital with 50 or more beds, acquired after obtaining the essential qualification (i.e., after residency period, declaration of result, and registration with the Nursing Council).

Note: The crucial date for determining eligibility (educational qualification, registration, and experience) is the closing date of online registration, i.e., 13.08.2026, unless otherwise specified.

NORCET-11 Age Limit and Age Relaxation Details

The general age limit for all AIIMS Nursing Officer posts under NORCET-11 is 18 to 30 years. The crucial date for calculating age is the closing date of online registration, i.e., 13.08.2026. Category-wise age relaxation as applicable is given below:

NORCET-11 Selection Process and Exam Pattern

Selection for the post of Nursing Officer under NORCET-11 will be made through a two-stage Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by choice-filling, merit-based allocation, and document verification.

Stage I – NORCET Preliminary (Qualifying in Nature)

  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • 100 MCQs of 100 marks (20 questions on General Knowledge & Aptitude, 80 questions on Nursing subjects)
  • Negative marking: 1/3 mark for each wrong answer
  • Question paper divided into 5 sections of 18 minutes each, with no option to go back to a previous section
  • Qualifying percentile: UR/EWS – 50, OBC – 45, SC/ST – 40; additional 5 percentile relaxation for PWBD
  • Candidates equal to 5 times the total seats in each category will be shortlisted for Stage II

Stage II – NORCET Mains (Used for Final Merit)

  • Duration: 180 minutes
  • 160 MCQs of 160 marks, case-scenario based nursing skill competency questions
  • Negative marking: 1/3 mark for each wrong answer
  • Question paper divided into 4 sections of 45 minutes each
  • Qualifying marks: UR/EWS – 50%, OBC – 45%, SC/ST – 40%; additional 5% relaxation for PWBD

Tie-Breaking Criteria

In case of a tie in marks at Stage II, resolution will be done in this order: (1) fewer wrong answers in Stage II, (2) higher marks in Stage I, (3) fewer wrong answers in Stage I, (4) older candidate by date of birth, (5) alphabetical order of name.

AIIMS Nursing Officer Salary and Pay Scale 2026

Selected candidates will be appointed at Level 07 of the Pay Matrix, corresponding to the pre-revised Pay Band-2 of Rs.9,300 – 34,800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4,600/-, under Group-B (Non-Gazetted) category. In addition to basic pay, selected Nursing Officers are entitled to usual allowances admissible to Central Government servants of similar status posted at the respective city/location of the allotted AIIMS/Institute, such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and Nursing Allowance as per applicable rules of the respective institute.
