OC / General 18 years 44 years
SC / ST / BC / EWS 18 years 49 years
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities 18 years 54 years

Ex-servicemen get a different relaxation: the length of regular service in the Armed Forces plus three more years is deducted from the actual age. This does not apply to those released on dismissal or discharge for misconduct or inefficiency. The age rules follow Rule 12 of the AP State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996, read with G.O.Ms.No.187 dated 14.09.2026.

Salary Details

The notification and G.O.Ms.No.52 do not state the pay scale for SA or SGT posts. Not Mentioned in the Official Notification. Candidates should check the Information Bulletin on the official website for any pay-related information.

Selection Process

Selection is based on merit-cum-roster, following the reservation rules, and on the order of preference each candidate gives in the application.

  • SA and SGT: 100 marks in total, made up of 80 marks for the Computer Based Test and 20 marks for APTET/CTET weightage.
  • SA (Physical Education): 100 marks for the Computer Based Test only, with no TET weightage.
  • Minimum CBT marks (SA except PE, and SGT): OC and EWS 40%, Backward Classes 35%, SC/ST/PwBD 30%. The same percentages apply to the SA (PE) written test.
  • TET pass marks (out of 150): OC/EWS 90, BC 75, SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-servicemen 60, for both APTET and CTET.
  • Normalization: because the test runs in several shifts, marks will be normalized using the formula given in the notification, calculated up to five decimal places.

Scoring the minimum marks does not give any right to selection. Merit lists are prepared district-wise by the District Selection Committee.

Reservation Rules

  • 95% of posts are reserved for local candidates; the remaining 5% is open to local and non-local candidates on merit.
  • Vertical reservation applies to SC (Groups I, II, III), ST, BC (A to E) and EWS. Horizontal reservation covers Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Ex-servicemen, women and meritorious sportspersons.
  • EWS means gross annual family income below Rs.8 lakh. The certificate must be based on FY 2025-26 income and issued on or after 01.04.2026 by a Tahsildar or higher revenue authority.
  • Sports quota is 3%. Candidates must register on sports.ap.gov.in, get a Sports Person Identification Number (SPID) and enter it in the application. No disability quota applies to SA (Physical Education).

Out of 150 marks, OC and EWS candidates need 90, Backward Class candidates need 75, and SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-servicemen candidates need 60. These pass marks apply to both APTET and CTET scores considered for this recruitment, and the TET score then carries weightage in the final merit.

When will the DSC 2026 exam be held?

The Computer Based Test is scheduled between 20 December 2026 and 13 January 2027. Hall tickets are planned for download from 14 December 2026, and an online mock test is expected on 5 December 2026. The number of sessions may change depending on applications.

Can I apply for more than one post in DSC 2026?

Yes, if you meet the eligibility for each post. You must give your post-wise and management-wise preferences in order at the time of application. Once you are selected for a higher preference, you are automatically dropped from the lower ones, so you get only one post.

Can I change my preferences after applying?

No edits are allowed after final submission. However, a one-time option is given for 7 days after the merit list is published, and it lets you change only the order of your post and management preferences. No other detail can be modified after that.

For School Assistant (except PE) and SGT posts, the minimum is 40% for OC and EWS, 35% for Backward Classes and 30% for SC, ST and PwBD. Securing these marks alone does not guarantee selection, as the final list depends on merit and roster.

What is the salary of an AP DSC 2026 teacher?

The notification and G.O.Ms.No.52 do not give pay scale details, so the salary is Not Mentioned in the Official Notification. Candidates should read the Information Bulletin on the official website and wait for the appointment order for any pay-related information.

Is there any local reservation in AP DSC 2026?
