Once paid, the fee is not refunded and cannot be held in reserve for any other examination. Applications cannot be withdrawn after registration. If CPRI cancels the recruitment, only the application fee will be refunded.

Key Selection Rules
- If many eligible applications are received, CPRI may limit the number of candidates called for document verification, skill test or trade test.
- Tie in CBT score or valid GATE score is resolved by placing the older candidate (by date of birth) higher.

CPRI Exam Pattern 2026 & Syllabus

The four common sections are General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language & Comprehension. The Engineering Officer posts have no written exam as they are decided on GATE score.

Exam Centres for CPRI CBT 2026
The Computer Based Test is planned at five cities: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Delhi and Kolkata. CPRI will try to allot your preferred city but reserves the right to allot any other centre. Requests for change of centre are not entertained.
For AP & Telangana Candidates: Hyderabad is one of the exam cities, and CPRI also has a unit in Hyderabad. However, the notification says candidates can be posted at any CPRI office in India, so be ready to relocate. Choose your exam centre preference carefully in the form.
Facilities for PwBD Candidates – Scribe & Compensatory Time
Only persons with at least 40% of a specified disability, as certified by the competent medical authority, are eligible for PwBD reservation under the RPwD Act, 2016. Conditions certified as “likely to improve” are not eligible for reservation, while “progressive, non-progressive or not likely to improve” conditions are eligible.
- Scribe and compensatory time must be requested in the online application. They cannot be added after final submission.
- The candidate must arrange his/her own scribe at their own cost. The scribe should not be a candidate for the same exam and must have a qualification one step below the candidate.
- Scribe declaration (Annexure-III) and the scribe’s original photo ID with a self-attested copy must be submitted at the exam centre.
- Candidates with disability below 40% who have difficulty writing need a certificate in the prescribed Annexure-II format.
- Other PwBD candidates needing a scribe require an Annexure-I certificate from a Government health institution.
